Hey there! Welcome to my corner of the internet.
I’ve used plenty of labels to describe myself over the years, but book lover is the one I’ve worn with the most pride.
I have a background in Anthropology and Social Entrepreneurship, which means I’m endlessly curious about people, culture, and the stories we tell. Books have always been my favourite way to explore all of that.
My home was basically a library in disguise, with nearly a thousand books lining the walls. My mum passed on her passion for reading, and I honestly can’t imagine a better inheritance. Reading has shaped how I think, how I connect with others, and how I make sense of the world.
Berta on Books is where I bring that perspective to life. I don’t just write about what I’m reading, I also look at where a book comes from, what shaped it, and how it fits into the broader cultural moment. I’m interested in the questions behind the pages: What is this book trying to say? Who is it responding to? Why is it arriving now, in this form?
You’ll find everything here from classics to contemporary fiction, always approached with curiosity and care. I keep things thoughtful but approachable, exploring big ideas without overcomplicating them. At its core, this is a space for people who believe stories still matter and want to think a little more deeply about the ones we share.
